Reiser Relief Inc. donation to provide 104,167 nutritious meals to families in Haiti

Reiser Relief Inc. had plans to donate $20,000, but more gifts came in and enable us to donate $25,000 which will provide the raw ingredients to produce 104,167 nutritious meals to families in Haiti. These MannaPak meal packets are made by Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), and the food is packaged in small pouches which have won rave reviews all over the world. While the formula was designed to save the lives of severely malnourished and starving children, the ingredients also improve the health, growth and physical well-being of children who are no longer in immediate danger of starvation. A team of food scientists continues to monitor the FMSC formula to ensure that it meets nutritional needs of the world’s hungry children.

A single bag of food—which provides highly nutritious meals for six children—costs around $1.44 to produce, and 93 percent of all donations to FMSC goes directly toward the food program.

Reiser Relief donated $10,000 to FMSC earlier this year and also in February 2010. President of Reiser Relief, Father Bernard Reiser has been working to support the poor in Haiti for more than 16 years. He incorporated Reiser Relief in 2007 to provide fresh water and food to Haitian families and support two schools, located in Cite Soleil and Lespinasse/Donte.
